Questions people actually ask
- What counts as an active client?
- A client record with active status during the billing month. Clients marked inactive never count, and neither does your internal house client. We measure the peak number active at once during the period. Your live count and this same definition sit in Settings, next to the number we bill on.
- Why don’t you charge per seat?
- Because agencies run on freelancers, contractors and part-time bookkeepers, and counting seats punishes you for how you actually work. Client count tracks the size of your business; seat count tracks your org chart.
- What happens when I go over my client limit?
- Nothing breaks. Nobody is locked out, no feature switches off, and no invoice is blocked. You move to the next tier from the following month, and you pay the difference, not a penalty. If it was one unusual month and you drop back, tell us and we will waive it.
- What happens if I downgrade or cancel?
- Your financial history becomes read-only. You can view and export everything, forever. We never hide your invoices behind a paywall.
- Do you charge for client portal access?
- No. Client viewers are unlimited and free on every plan.
- Is pricing different in my country?
- We adjust pricing to local markets at checkout, based on your billing country and tax registration. Local prices are fixed in your currency and reviewed quarterly, so exchange-rate swings never change your bill mid-quarter.
- What is founder pricing?
- 50% off list, locked for 24 months, for agencies that join during private launch and give us a monthly feedback call. List prices rise as time tracking, accounting export and tax-authority e-invoicing ship.
- Is there a free plan?
- No. Studio can be started on a 21-day trial for $1 instead; the larger tiers are billed from the day you start. Finance data means accounts never truly delete, so a permanent free tier would mean holding books we are not being paid to keep safe. The card is taken up front so billing is proven before your books depend on it, and you can cancel inside the trial.
